Rocks Crash Thru Windows of Three Homes in Meritage II Community

Tuesday, December 19, 2006, approximately 05:00 A.M. Three Empire Ranch residents were victimized by someone who came through the neighborhood intent on doing damage to homes. Each of the three homes had a large rock, approximately 5" to 6" in diameter thrown or propelled through a window in their homes. the Folsom Police mentioned to one of the victims that her call was the seventh call they responded to this morning for rocks being thrown into windows here in Folsom.

The exact sequence of the hits have not been determined yet, but the locations of the homes are at 1910 Alteri Court at the corner of Stonemill Drive, 810 Fairchild Court at the corner of Sturbridge Drive, and 821 Fieldstone Court at the corner of Sturbridge Drive where you exit our neighborhood.

The house on Alteri Court actually had two rocks thrown or launched. The first rock smashed the edge of the vinyl window frame, knocking a hole in the frame but not breaking the window. The second rock smashed the front bedroom window, landing across the room. The house on Fairchild Court also had the front bedroom window smashed with the rock breaking the wood shutter and landing across the room. The home on Fieldstone Court was probably the last one hit in our neighborhood as the owner was in the kitchen eating breakfast when he heard the rock crash through his living room window and smash into the dining room wall approximately 25 feet away. He ran outside once he realized what happened and heard a car speeding away out of the neighborhood. Fortunately, there were no injuries to any of our neighbors.

If anyone was out and about early this morning and happened to notice any suspicious activity or saw anything that might be helpful in solving this crime, please contact the Folsom Police Department immediately.
